Flowers & Milieu

Good morning! Yes... I said morning. It's a time of day I'm not used to seeing. It's kind of pretty. I'm usually only up when the sky is dark, doing my editing by the light of a candle and my (love my!) mac. That night life, it ain't no good life, but it's my life. Anyway, (not) enough silliness! I thought I'd post just a few photos from a recent shoot at Lantana Lodge in Pilot Point, which is such a beautiful venue for a wedding. Lantana overlooks Lake Ray Roberts and has the most breathtaking views of the sunset over the water. On this particular day, Liland's Special Event Productions brought out some fresh hydrangea flower arrangements, and they beautifully decorated the gazebo to show a representation of their work. They did a wonderful job.

(PS. photogs, the only time Liland's could make it was mid-day sun 2:00 pm. Ouch! To get the beautiful blue sky, I lit the gazebo with my trusty quantum and shot at F13.)

Billy + Jamie ePeek

I understand why Jamie loves Billy:
He raises rodeo steers on a big ranch and really
Has found peace and paradise on that beautiful land.
But more than that, he loves Jamie, now isn't that grand?

New Logo!

Hello wonderful brides and grooms of the world!

What a wedding season it's been! Whew! I've really missed my blogging and I'm ready to catch up. Here's something really cool - Jimmages Contemporary Wedding Photography has a new logo! So I have been designing a new way to frame my blog photos with it, so that I can get busy catching up. I have so many cool cats, weddings, engagements and bridals to post. So get ready! But first, I want to show you the new logo. I'm so excited about it. Jim and I share the same initials, so we wanted to incorporate that commonality into our new logo. The "J" represents a bride/wedding dress and the "M" represents the grrom/tails. Pretty cool, huh?
Jimmages Logo.jpg

We would surely like to thank our wonderful graphic artist, Carol Taldo. She is so talented and innovative, and so very professional. We (ok, I) gave her some conflicting information about the logo creation, but she never minded - she just kept putting up with us (ok, me) and made it exactly perfectly perfect to suit. Feel free to drop me an email if you'd like to make contact with her to tweak your business.

Please check out the new cool cats, and please visit my blog frequently because I am promising some beautiful shots in the next few days. I've met so many wonderful people this summer. I just can't tell you how blessed I feel! I truly can't. I have been a part of some absolutely beautiful wedding days, and have been Given the opportunity to get the best scope view of anyone some oh so very important moments of time. I'm so thankful.

Chad + Tamara

Hello!!!
I'm so happy to be back! I have so many wonderful weddings to share with you. Oh my goodness I've been so blessed to be a part of so many beautiful occasions. I am so so very thankful. I've met some truly wonderful people and have been able to share their very happiest days with them.

So I'm starting with Chad & Tamara, the sweetest couple you could ever hope to meet. They got married beside the large fountain pond at the Shoppes at Legacy in Plano. Two words describe their wedding perfectly - simple elegance. Even though the setting was public, it still felt very intimate, because the area where the ceremony unfolded was sort of sectioned off, and the gorgeous green cypress trees formed what seemed like a tent above us. Tamara has a very sweet spirit, and Chad is a real guy's guy. I just love them both. Here are some images from their beautiful wedding, but first, let's see Tamara in her gorgeous vintage style dress.

Don't the boys look like they belong on some movie set?

The cypress trees made the wedding seems so intimate, especially from underneath.

David Jay & Jasmine Star!!!

WOW WOW WOW! I had the most wonderful and completely sweet experience! I attended a class taught by two of my very favorite wedding photographers, David Jay and Jasmine Star! And now, we're just tight, major buds, best friends. You can tell that by the photos below, where I'm just hanging out, yep, I'm just hanging out with David Jay and Jasmine Star. That's me, just hanging around with the big timers. Truly though, my goodness what a great time it was. David Jay, one of the top ten greatest wedding photographers in the world, yes, in the WORLD (not just the US, the world..!) taught a wonderful class teamed up with Jasmine Star, who was so powerful and refreshing; she's a complete rock star. I found David Jay to be so sincere, and willing to share, to make us all better and our industry greater. It was a highly informative class, offering both photography tips and business advise, and the theme was keeping ourselves fresh and unemcumbered from hours upon hours of editing. (YAY!!!) I also met some new friends, and I loved meeting Kenny Kim! Sweet!

This is really a great month for learning, because in a few days, I'll hopefully be posting my photo just below these with Doug Boutwell, another fabulous mentor, who has created the best actions available to photographers today (and you know he'll want to be my very best friend in the world.)

My favorite two photographers to follow at this particular time are Mark & Candace Brooke and Dane & Jaclyn Kaiser, and of course and always the [b]ecker. If you want to see what 20K wedding photographers look like, visit their sites. If you want to see wedding photography that will change what you think wedding photography is, visit their sites.

Yep. Here's me with my best friend Jasmine. We're gonna go shopping next week.

Sneak Peek Weddings

Hi!
I decided to do a short sneak peek blog update from some of my summer weddings, and then I will flesh them out a bit later. So this is a "mini-blog" of John & Azlynn, Derrick & Natlie, and Keith & Amanda. Here are some highlights of some wonderful days!

John + Azlynn
John and Azylnn's was GORGEOUS, brightly colored wedding at Bingham House in McKinney, Texas. John and Azlynn had a really fun wedding party. They surprised the guests and all decked out in sunglasses after the vows which made the end of the wedding so happy and light-hearted.

Keith + Amanda

This was the sweetest wedding; very unique. Keith is a professor at Austin College and he and Amanda are very down to earth, no frills people. They were married in their living room, and there were no rings, no lacy, long dress, no traditional wedding cake, cut flowers or fancy napkins. But they were surrounded by a wonderful group of family and friends (and Molly the sheltie!), and the love and respect they so obviously hold for each other filled their wedding with generous decoration.
