Got my Shootsac!!!

I am so happy to have received my Jessica Claire Shootsac! It's the bomb! I've been on two shoots with it already and it's changed everything. All my lenses are at my fingertips and I don't have to fuddle around for them, and I don't have to have some MANLY looking thing with ugly straps to wag around. (Although Jim got one too, he is sporting the solid black microfiber cover.) I have the Baroque style cover (shown in the upper right photo) but I plan to get many others! Love it! Love it!

As if you don't already know how great a trip to the SPA is... take a look! The | jimmages SPA | treatment offers special attention to every detail of a photo, to make it feel better! SPA stands for Signature Photo Art. And here is a sample of what a little TLC at the SPA can do. Future posts will show how creative we can be at the SPA with engagement shoots. Everyone and every photo can be made pristine. FYI: You will NEVER see a photo of me that hasn't had extensive SPA treatment!

Here's a photo of a very beautiful bride who wanted this particular pose, but it wasn't flattering to her neck area.

Starla's Formal Bridal Session

Starla's wedding is fast approaching! It will be a lovely June wedding. She came this week for her formal bridal portraits. She decided we should shoot them in the studio instead of on location. We live in a historic home built in 1922, and we've been restoring it for 10 years now! We made the garage apartment into our photography studio, and it doesn't look like a a big deal, but we sure do get some stunning portraits out of it! But with a bride like Starla, that part comes easy anyway.

Starla's dress is so beautiful and detailed.

The Story of Pete & Cora

Meet Cora Mae.

blog 1.jpg

Her world was very colorful and alive. But she was all alone.

blog 2.jpg

But then she kinda had her eye on this guy...

His name was Pete.

blog 3.jpg

Well Pete kind of had eyes for Cora too.

blog 5.jpg

He couldn't take his eyes off of her in fact!

And then they saw each other.

And they were happy.

Chuck + Jan

This weekend I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Chuck and Jan Wescott. They are about the sweetest couple ever, and both were dedicated to making their wedding a spiritual event. Jim and I joked that we came for a wedding, and a worship service broke out! I always love the photos of the flower girls, and here are a couple of cuties and their fancy fancy hair dos!

Rebecca and Julie did a wonderful job of spreading the petals. They each had Easter rabbits fully adorned in wedding gowns to snuggle.

Old. New. Borrowed.

blog 4.jpg

Jan and her bridesmaids took some time for prayer and worship before the service.

blog 6.jpg

Jan's flowers were really pretty. She chose fresh, bright oranges, greens and yellows to brighten up the chapel.

blog 9.jpg

But they look great in sepia as well!

blog 10.jpg

A bright ceremony filled with love and tender moments. Everyone cried, including me!

blog 11.jpg

I cried because I love my 70-200 IS lens! Got this shot from the BALCONY!

blog 12.jpg

Brandon and Amanda are thankful that their mom is happy.

blog 13.jpg

Speaking of Brandon. At every wedding, one person always stands out as the coolest. Brandon is hands down the guy. He is a huge Rolling Stones fan and changed into a vintage Stones t-shirt right after the wedding. In my book, Brandon wins the "Coolest Cat at the Wedding" award. There will be a winner each week, stay tuned! In all future wedding blogs, there will be two other awards, so get ready! Other awards will be "Hottest Shoes" and "Crown Jewel Hairdo."

blog 14.jpg

Honorable mention for the "Cool Cat (or dog) at the Wedding" award goes to this guy who was awfully friendly and kept guard during the ceremony.

blog 15.jpg

Details, Details!

blog 16.jpg

Chuck is an avid fisherman and brought his fishing gear with him to fish in the pond outside the chapel before he and Jan hooked up.

blog 18.jpg

...and a good time was had by all.

blog 19.jpg

blog 20.jpg

When Jan began her procession down the aisle, a cheerful crowd giggled as the music accompanied her which was "Goin' to the Chapel." Pretty cool! The chapel bells filled the air to celebrate Chuck and Jan's happy union.

blog 22.jpg

After the wedding, Chuck and Jan wanted to take a walk up the hill next to the chapel where stood a large green tractor. They are honeymooning in New York, so they broke out singing the theme to Green Acres! Here they shouted "NEW YORK is where I'd rather stay!!!"

blog 23.jpg

Jan decided to take a rest and rock a little on the chapel porch. It was just a perfect day and I am so thankful to have been a part of it. Thank you both, Chuck and Jan, for giving me some wonderful memories, and God bless you both always!

Evie

Hey! I had so much fun taking photos of this pretty one. It's so great to shoot in natural late afternoon light with a 50mm because you can just go wide open with a careful focus. Most of these, (you photo-types can see which ones,) were shot at 200 ISO, f1.2, SS 1/2500. Fun to do!
